SAFE ROOM INFORMATION REQUESTED
Stop by the City Office
with your safe room or safe area information.
Where it is located and a list of people that are more than likely
going to be in it in case of a tornado.
The information will be kept on file to help the first responders
in case a tragedy would happen.
Altamont Fire Department is requesting information
about your “safe room”.
Forms are available at the City Office.
The sirens will be tested on Mondays at approximately Noon.
We will be testing the tornado siren. It is a solid blast.
They will only be tested if the weather is good and above 40 degrees.
If you hear the siren any other time – TAKE COVER.

ROOFING CONTRACTOR REGULATIONS
All paid roofing contractors are required to register with the
Ks Attorney General. Before starting to roof in Altamont,
bring your registration proof to the City Office.
Must be renewed annually.
A copy is available at the City Office.

Walk Facing Traffic
If there is no sidewalk and you must walk on the side
of the road, choose the side where you are facing oncoming traffic.
This gives you the best chance to see traffic approaching
closest to you and take evasive action when needed.

Operation of 4-wheelers,
work-site utility vehicles, etc.
ALL operators must have a VALID driver’s license.
No person under 18 yrs of age,
shall operate or be a passenger during
the operation without wearing a helmet upon the streets of Altamont.
CANNOT be driven on the Highway or 4th Street.

on a leash or in a pen at all times.
All domestic animals must be tagged in the
City of Altamont each year.
